In The Welsh Wind is a small craft distillery located in a wildflower meadow overlooking Cardigan Bay. Created by hardworking husband and wife team Alex Jungmayr and Ellen Wakelam.

Challenge:

In the Welsh Wind produces bespoke spirits for customers in the premium drinks industry. The process involves crafting, blending, tasting and developing each product before distilling it in small batches for the highest quality finish.

A prestigious drinks business approached Alex and Ellen for a bespoke branded gin. In order to create the appropriate branding for the product, they needed to work with a label company that could provide bottle labels with a high quality, matt finish, all within a very tight timescale. A stockist who had worked with In The Welsh Wind on several high end products recommended they contact Labels Plus.

Solution:

In The Welsh Wind supplied Labels Plus with artwork based on an illustration by Pembrokeshire artist Connor Stephen. The studio at Labels Plus quickly sent Alex and Ellen an electronic proof so that they could check the design before confirming they were happy for it to go to print. In under five days LabelsPlus supplied 1,000 digitally printed neck and side labels on a thick, high spec paper with a matt finish.

Labels Plus has since become the distillery’s sole label supplier also producing copper-effect gift vouchers as well as partnering with Alex and Ellen on the branding for a series of exciting new gins.
