About our biodegradable filmic labels

Increasingly our customers want their labels to be eco-friendly therefore we’re thrilled to announce our new range of biodegradable, filmic labels.

Produced from wood pulp sourced from managed plantations, these cellulous (organic compound) based labels can be disposed of easily and responsibly.

Applications

As these new labels are cellulose based, our biodegradable filmic labels are ideal for businesses who want their product’s packaging to be completely  biodegradable or where the labels  come into direct or indirect contact with food.

We offer a choice of clear or white filmic biodegradable labels – both of which are compliant with European food regulation 1935/2004/ECl and are OK compost HOME certified. What’s more the adhesive used in their production is fully compliant with DIN EN 13432 biodegradability and compostability regulation.

Compostable self-adhesive labels are derived from sustainable resources and fully certified to EN13432, the European Industrial Compostable Standard.

The EN13432 standard requires a compostable material to have 90% biodegradation within 6 months, 90% disintegration within 12 weeks with the absence of any negative effects during the composting process.

The HOME standard requires a compostable material to have 90% biodegradation within 12 months, 90% disintegration within 6 months with the absence of any negative effects during the composting process.

As such they offer a high quality, versatile labelling solution for environmentally-minded businesses of all sizes.

  • Clear: preferred by natural foods producers and retailers where it’s important that customers can see the quality of the product through its packaging. These labels are resistant to oils and grease. The adhesive has good initial tack capable of sticking to a wide variety of substrates.
  • White: a good multi-purpose option, these labels are also resistant to oils and grease and are suitable for a wide variety of applications. The adhesive has good initial tack capable of sticking to a wide variety of substrates.

Both the above materials are suited to all kinds of applications but they are specifically suited to products where the complete packaging has to be 100% biodegradable.
